Elsa Gomis

On 17 June 2024, the School of Art welcomed visual artist and scholar Elsa Gomis, Ph.D. Dr. Gomis led two interactive workshops on the visual analysis of mainstream images of migration, guiding students through exercises that connected terms, narratives, and photographs related to contemporary migration. The workshops encouraged students to think critically about how images shape public perception and introduced new ways of understanding the relationship between photography and migration in the Mediterranean region. Her passionate and thoughtful approach left a strong impression, deepening the students awareness of visual storytelling and its role in global discourse.
